So far, my experience at FIU has been a horrible one. For one, there is nowhere to park once you get to the campus, and this has been the case for the entire 2 years that I've been attending here and keeps getting worse every semester. The only solution FIU has come up with to resolve this problem is to take away student parking spots and turn them into faculty parking. And instead of improving conditions here by building new parking garages, the university decided to build a new stadium for their football team, which can't even play, not to mention the fact that there's nothing wrong with the current stadium, and it never even gets full anyway.

In regards to the faculty in the accounting department, they are the rudest people you will ever meet in your life. They could care less about you, and they consider you as nothing more than a number. You have to pass an entrance exam just to get into the school of accounting, and then after that, they make the exams so hard, that 85% of the people that take intermediate accounting fail the course. I think that it is unacceptable to let that amount of people fail a course and offer no curve whatsoever in response to the insanely high failure rate. This says a lot about the quality of the professors, and how the department doesnt care at all about the students that take their courses.

In response to the courses offered in the business school, there are hardly any regular classes. Instead, the business school makes most of their courses fully online or hybrid. In either case, you'll end up paying $300 more just to take one of these courses because the business school purposely schedules to have these types of courses in place of regular classes. I've attended other colleges in the past, and I've never seen $300 fee for taking an online course. I took online courses at past universities, and actually learned a lot through them. Here, instead, youll just pay an extra $300 on top of the $300 cost of taking a regular class, and you'll end up teaching yourself everything. You wont be able to interact with the instructor, because all they do is grade your coursework and submit your grade to you about 2 weeks after you complete an assignment.

FIU prides themselves in their business school, but in reality their business school sucks!!! Half of there professors don't know how to teach, and on top of that, they are making tons of money by ripping people off through their online fees. If you and 250 other students in a 300 person course fail it, they wont care, wont curve, wont do anything pretty much. They just don't care about you or your education. The only thing FIU cares about is ripping you off, taking your money, and having a professor that gives you a letter grade, but doesn't have to teach you anything in the process.
