If you're into huge schools where you never see the same faces everyday, where professors won't know your name unless you go to their office hours and introduce yourself, where advisors won't remember you, and where frats and sororities are your 'thing', this the school for you. UF is a huge school, way too many kids… making it not only hard to succeed but also hard to identify yourself. The town is as boring as boring gets. That's why alcohol is so big… no one has anything better to do than get wasted and talk about it the next day. If I had to do it over, I wouldn't.

questionI'm getting my AA this June. I've already been accepted at UF, and I'm waiting on UM, but I most likely got accepted. My major will be telecommunications. I'm not sure if it's better for me to study at UF or UM. UF is 4 colleges above UM when I looked at a list of top colleges. I would like to get an internship. Gainesville is a college town, and Miami is a growing city. I would imagine it's growing in my field of study. Once I get my Master's, I plan to start my career in Miami. My dilemma is which university to study in. Maybe if it's in UM, I can start making connections, make future references, and get people to know me and how I work. I don't know what tv stations are looking for when searching for anchors (my future position). I'd appreciate any thoughts, comments, feedback, suggestions, etc. (Especially from any of you who are knowledgeable in this area of study) I can't say much about UF, and that's why I don't know what I should do.
responseHave you visited either school? And if not, why not. A campus visit will tell you a lot about your prospective schools. I know that UF has great opportunities for internships, which I found out during the campus tour. Everyone I know that's gone to UM loves it there, but Miami's too large of a city for me. You need to go visit before you make a decision.
commentI don't understand why you attended UF feeling the way you do? It was obvious to me from a one-day campus visit that this is a rah-rah school, a big game to be played. If you didn't want to play that game, why go there?
questionI have a question Which is a better school of the three I am a transfer student from Northern California and I am deciding between FSU, UCF, and UF which one overall a better school (academics, social life, etc.)
