Date: Jun 20 2008 Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time) The University of Iowa was a mixed bag for me, more negative than positive however. I attended as a freshman for one semester and loathed the atmosphere. Mostly everyone on my floor in my residence hall drank alcohol almost every night, and they could be pretty cliquish. I made a few long-term friends at UI but none as close friends. The education level is pretty average. My Rhetoric professor was a graduate student, not an actual professor. That kinda annoyed me because I thought,
Why should a student attending the school be allowed to teach us?
He wasn't even that much older than us. One class had over 200 students in it; I felt like a number and was unhappy.Lastly, Iowa City is one of the most boring cities ever (I'm from Des Moines). It's kind of exciting at first to see different types of places to hang out, but they quickly get boring. Especially if you're from a larger city.
