Major: Unknown (This Major's Salary over time)
I transferred to FIU and quickly realized I should have stayed. Students here can be downright nasty, and will push you through a bottlenecked hallway if they're not getting through. They also waste class time talking about themselves, and freak out and go ballistic on professors that take spelling and grammar into consideration when grading papers. The admissions office tells you one thing to get in the door, then another once you're enrolled. They told me transferring in with an AA would ensure that I would be able to take classes just for the major and not worry about gen eds. Then, when I went in for a graduation audit and found out that was not the case I was laughed at and asked Expect to be treated rudely at every office from Financial Aid, Bursars, Academic Advisement, and even your own program's office. I was accidentally dropped by the financial aid office my second semester here, and didn't find out about it until a professor couldn't put in my grade, 3/4 of the way through the semester. By that time they hassled me that it was too late to be reinstated or refunded. Only after individual letters from each professor saying I was in good standing and had been in their classes would they reinstate me for their error. Professors are hit or miss. If they're good they're amazing, but when they're bad, they're terrible. Never have I had a professor refuse to answer or skirt around student's questions, and tell them they're flat out wrong if they say anything slightly contradictory to their opinion. Parking's only really bad until the third week of school when the student body drops significantly, either from people dropping or not coming to class again until test days, then it's just an inconvenience.I attended both campuses and both of them had the same problems, just a different look. By all means…DON'T GO TO FIU.
