Major: Finance (This Major's Salary over time)
Before I came to the University of Houston, I wasted two years at Texas A&M. I must say, after one year at this school, im loving it. The classes are challenging, the school offers so many things, and the people are amazing. Im on a specific Finance trac and let me tell you, these classes are much more stimulating than any class I took at A&M. The only downer is the amount of involvement from students. I understand that many students are commuters, as am I, but i just wish they made an effort supporting this school (ie. sports). As a football fanatic, the games at A&M were amazing because of the sheer number of people and the traditions. UH on the other hand has tradition but lacks students support.People here are very down to earth. There are those few with obvious identity crises, but majority are fine people. What I enjoy most in classes are group projects, because this help show how dynamically crated this school is in its diversity. From what I understand, your experience here is what you make of it. If you expect to be a hermit crab and rarely leave your shell then you'll hate it at UH. You have to be willing to socialize with others, and majority are accepting of it. At A&M, the people only kept to their racial cliques. Earlier I read a review that claimed UH has alot of racial tension and A&M doesnt… Im sorry, but are you sure you've attended both schools like I have? There are cliques here, but not to the severity at A&M.GO COOGs!
