Major: Sociology (This Major's Salary over time)
People frequently talk about the "Appalachian Family" and the "Appalachian Experience"… and there really is a lot of truth to both of these. From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I knew this was the right place for me. As a senior in high school, taking primarily honors/AP courses, surrounded by friends who were headed off for UNC, NC State, and Wake Forest in the fall, people laughed at my decision to choose ASU. However, looking back, it is this decision that led me to where I am today. I started as a freshman and fairly quickly found my niche as a Sociology major, Psychology minor. The coursework was challenging but incredibly interesting, and I felt that it without a doubt prepared me for my graduate studies (that I also did at ASU, to become a School Counselor). I went on to become a Resident Assistant, and involved in several clubs and campus ministry groups. I loved my experience at App, and would do it again, and recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.
