Whereas most competing schools of International Relations offer comprehensive career planning and placement, The Whitehead school at Seton Hall fails to sufficiently help graduate students with their careers. The director of career services essentially "phones in" her job.

While the classroom instruction I received was outstanding, I've yet to find employment that uses the skills I learned at the Whitehead School. It seems that Seton Hall admits virtually anyone to the graduate program. I remember being in first year classes with people who had no background in International Relations. The result is that my degree doesn't have much value. There simply aren't enough jobs in this field for every graduate; even before the recession, there was no real market for most Whitehead students.

University services are simply terrible, particularly financial aid and "enrollment services". I took on surplus student loans to cover part of my living expenses while in graduate school. I would routinely receive my refund checks just before the end of the semester. My undergraduate university was far superior in this regard.

I would be hard-pressed to recommend Seton Hall or its Whitehead School of Diplomacy to anyone.
