As a nursing or engineering major, the University of Texas at Arlington has a lot of potential to educate and stimulate your academic desires as well as a promise of future success.

Academically, the University of Texas at Arlington is fairly easy. If one can manipulate the system by selecting the "right professors", showing up for class and searching for old exams, a high GPA is almost guaranteed.

UTA is known for being a commuter campus and it is difficult to assimilate. Very clique-ish. Once assimilated, it's even more difficult to break free of it. Comparable to a high school experience, you will see the same faces regularly. The average UTA Student is not motivated to be involved with School Activities, they rarely have participants though, bless them, they do there best to stimulate our interests.

Greek Life at the University of Texas at Arlington is charming, for the most part, and is known for being the social heart of UTA though is NOT artistically stimulating. Many of the Greeks have test banks for old exams, study groups, connections, formals, philanthropy events and date parties. Over all its been a pleasant, though relatively void of stimulation, experience. My subjective options:

Alpha Chi Omega: Intelligent girls who are very sister-oriented rather than social. Responsible and keep to themselves for the most part. I hear great things about them.

Delta Delta Delta: Down to earth, well-rounded sweethearts. Currently the highest GPA, Athletic champions. Second most social, though they are sweethearts to more than 4 of the fraternities on campus. Somewhat clique-ish

Delta Zeta: In my opinion, the kindest girls and most down to Earth.

Zeta Tau Alpha: Most social, quite athletic a mixture of snobs and sweethearts. Very interesting mix of girls.

I would not return due to higher expectations of self and greater need for environmental vigor and spirit. UTA was a great launching pad for my own self-discovery of those needs though mostly due to the friendships discovered within Greek Life. Good luck.
