Major: Astronomy (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm really a physics student, but I have a particular interest in the astronomy program so let me chime under its poster-head.The astronomy program at UNT is small but excellent. I'll be the first to admit it does not compare to UT, but the research being conducted by the observatory is always conveyed directly to the students. Unfortunately the physics department suffers from the 'brain drain' dilemma plaguing the US - a lot of its faculty do not speak English as readily as the average professor from the history department (my second major).Social life is good if you make it. Aesthetics are a little disappointing, as others have said, but the school is undergoing massive transformations so we'll see where it heads in the next decade.
