Let me start by saying that I have been a student at Miami for the past year and I am now transferring, here's why:I'll be honest, I based my decision to attend Miami University because of peer-pressure from my girlfriend who also goes there. When I originally took a campus visit I was not very impressed other than by the beautiful scenery and cute girls, but I told myself that it would be different when I started in the fall. I was wrong. Miami is a very good school and will provide you with a great education, but for me at least I just don't enjoy living in Oxford. It's in the middle of nowhere, a LOT of the students are very snobby and it's the most expensive public school in Ohio. Miami U in my opinion has the J Crew U reputation because it deserves it. If students aren't rich most do their best look rich. Also if you're not interested in joining a frat your social life choices will be severely limited. As an independent military veteran and not a millionaire's kid I can hardly afford to continue being a student, and so I am transferring to another school.
