If you are looking for a real college experience where you want to meet new people make new friendships and witness every other aspect of a college experience NO NOT COME HERE. This school may seem big at first but it really isnt. 50% of the students here are in state and go home every weekend. The campus is absolutely empty on the weekends. The only social life here is greek life which is difficult to get into since there arent many fraternities or sororities on campus for the amount of students. School is extremely over priced and isnt very prestigous. I dont have a problem with alcohol but if you do then you will be miserable here. There is no student center on campus for people who want to do other activities so you are basically out of luck. Sports here are awful. This is basically the party school for the kids who didnt get into penn state. This is also a dry campus there is no alcohol allowed and RA's crack down, there is no tailgating for games. Students rarely even go to the games at all. Some professors are okay but thats with every university. If you are looking for a college experience where you want to meet new people from all over and have a good time URI is not the place. If you want any sort of social life here you have to go greek or else you will just be smoking somewhere on campus every night and then going back to your dorm room. I highly recommend if you are out of state you look for a better school.
