I came to the University of Denver for the academics the school offered. Though not overly challenging, I found I was well learned in the areas I studied. I really love two of my professors, whereas the others have been so so. The academics are good, especially if you're a bit lazy and don't want to have to work really really hard out of class but still wish to engage and learn in class.

Having said that, this review is negative for a reason. DU really lacks diversity. I am an artist and really enjoy liberal arts; if this is you, DON'T COME HERE! Everyone makes their friends within the first week, and from there on out no one wants to reach out to make friends. This is something I really couldn't (and still can't) understand about the Universities environment.

The drug scene is prevalent, and unfortunately the drugs used are not drugs which enlighten. Many students smoke marijuana, which can be a plus or a minus, depending on who you are. On the whole, students are wealthy, white, business majors who are just looking out to earn some good ole USA fiat currency.

Frats and sororities are big. Bring your button downs and your longboards. The party scene is lame, unless you're bro'd out form head to toe. Then they might let you into their parties.

It's clear that SO MUCH of your money will be going to sports. If you aren't an athlete, this may be a consideration for you.

Overall: unless you are really wealthy, white, want to study business, and have always dreamt of partaking in Greek life, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Freshman dorms are really no good.

Study abroad program is great.

Lastly, know that I've had a negative experience. The truth lies somewhere between the Positive, Negative, and Neural reviews. Just read, visit, stay over night, and decide for yourself.

Tschuss!

I am thinking to take admission there because it can be fruitful for me if I take things as a challenging student.
