Assumption College

I found this website while searching to see if other students were having similar problems to me regarding this school. I WISH I had found this website before deciding to attend here because the negative comments are dead on.

The main reason I came here was because I received a decent amount of scholarship money. When I got here I realized that almost everyone here came for the same reason. The pros of the scholarship money do not even compare to the number of cons there are with this school…it's awful. Let me tell ya…a lot of people want to transfer after there first year.

My main problem with this school is the people. There are pretty much 3 categories for kids here 1) drama-seeking, snooty, condescending girls 2) douche-bag wanna-be "lax bros" who are not even that good at sports 3) Good, smart nerds, who a "normal" kid would have nothing in common with. I would define myself as a "normal" girl. I'm social and friendly with everyone and have similar interests to any girl my age. My first semester I was targeted by girls with jealousy issues who I were told targeting me because "they think I'm pretty" and spread rumors about me that were not true…they go in category 1. These girls ruined my reputation with lies to make themselves look better. When I brought this to the school's attention after I got fed up with their ways, the school did absolutely nothing and told me to get counseling…counseling because I was bullied? Really? I'm so sorry I got bullied for being nothing but nice to these girls. While I now have to finish out my freshman year with a tarnished reputation and snotty girls still talking about me, I can not wait to get the hell out of here. I never saw something like this happening to me.

It's a shame my first year of college had to go so badly. Coming to Assumption is basically like going to high school all over again. If you like rumors, arrogant/condescending people, and nothing to do on weekends unless you are an alcoholic…then maybe this is your school. Any person trying to keep their sanity and have a good freshman year of college please take my advice and stay away from here! I was fooled on my tour and thought this was going to be a great school but it's not. The weekends can never come soon enough so I can go home and re-charge my batteries. I never would have imagined being the kid who goes home every weekend but I just honestly can not stand the people here. For your own sakes…do not come here. I guess if you want to only focus on classes and don't really care if you have real friend or any friends this would be an alright fit, but it is not the right fit for me.
