Date: Oct 18 2012 Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time) I loved Appalachian. The negative things are mostly my own fault. I am unemployed because I am injured, and I'm considering going back to school because I think I made the wrong decision in terms of majors. However, App is the only place I think I could have enjoyed so thoroughly as an undergrad. There is no comparable natural setting, and the town is a place of old-time culture mixed with Southern conservatism and hippie liberalism. It is really an atmosphere like no other and does not trap students in an overly stressful atmosphere. People are very friendly and professors are very accessible. However, you must be self-motivated to find success since the academics can be hit or miss.
