UNT is a joke. The classes are taught by both professors and TA's. So you meet for a lecture with your professor in one classroom and the next day it's with your TA in another classroom. I got ALL of my grades back in one class at the very end of the semester. Thank god I am a decent student and didn't really have to worry about passing or failing. But for others who like to coast by, it is crucial to have your grades back in a timely manner.

The professors think that their class is the only class everyone is taking so there is always busy work to do. And forget about trying to minimize your commute or time at school because its impossible to get MonWedFri classes or TueThurs classes. The school does not realize that it is a commuter school and the majority of the students live off campus, so be prepared to go to school everyday and making attendance a part of your grade doesn't help those who are trying to save money on gas.

I am all for working hard to make good grades but sometimes I need a break. UNT during its fall semester has 3 days off the entire semester. One of which is Labor Day, which was the first weekend of school. They don't offer a Fall Break so the other 2 days off are Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday. They don't even give their students the Wednesday before to travel. So be prepared to feel burnt out by the end of semester.

Last but definitely not least parking. Parking is my biggest issue with this school. Students pay thousands and thousands of dollars a semester just to attend the school, then pay a few hundred dollars for books, so why the hell do students have to pay an additional $150 to $300 for a permit for a parking lot that is a mile to a mile and half away from class. The college makes students who don't live on campus bite the bullet and get the parking permits because if you don't because you think you've found a spot to park off campus…guess again. The distribute parking tickets as if the people ripping them are on commission.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. There are better universities in the DFW area out there.

I've lived a mile from campus, and I can tell you that nowhere on campus will you park more than a mile from your classes, unless you're shuttling to the engineering complex. I don't know where you're getting your misconceptions about college from, but I do know that attendance policies vary from professor to professor. Are you really complaining about having to go to class though?

Good luck finding many other American schools with a Fall break, though. In any case, you get most of it back with a solid month-long winter break every year. You had several legitimate claims, but most of it just seems like whining about things that people deal with almost everywhere, especially with larger universities.
