Miami University - Oxford

I still haven't figured Miami out as a university. I feel as if my "friends" or perceived friends are the only thing keeping me here, but then again I've only been here for a semester. I will soon be moving to Western campus to join the Interdisciplinary Studies program, and I'm excited to say the least. Miami as a whole is a weird university to try and understand. It seems only as if everyone is concerned with upward mobility and constantly outdoing the next, and impressing the next after the next. In addition, as being an out of state student I know nothing about Ohio, NOR do I give a shit. Everyone has their head so far up their ass about Ohio State football that I wonder why they didn't go there in the first place. anywho, I'm also kind of put off by the lack of school spirit, and care in general amongst the student body…if selfishness, egocentrism, and self-absorption were a major…then this university would lead the country… All of the flaws within Miami aren't the universities fault, but rather the students. Perhaps I just haven't found my niche yet here at Miami, perhaps I never will, or maybe it's that i don't know what I'm looking for, but I do know that I never want to be like a majority of these people…so if you have Seven jeans, louis vuitton bags, lacoste shirts, and other senseless material obsessions pack your gucci bags for Miami and come to this nowhere in Ohio… Geez, after reading this to myself, perhaps i should transfer!
