While it would be easy to focus on all of the negative things around here… curfew, lack of University-provided afterhour entertainment, dorm life… I choose to focus on all of the wonderful things, because when I think about it- all of those "negatives" are actually beneficial. I am a freshman. So far, every instance of being here at Liberty has been beyond a dream come true. Not only do I know I'm in a place where most importantly Christ is glorified, but because of that, the faculty and staff regard the students as more than just numbers. I've had hands-on experience with many of them, and I am far from dissatisfied. I am as critical as someone could be and I like to discover things for myself- it takes a lot to impress me. I am honest when I say I am pleased with many things, almost everything here. Of the things I'm not pleased: I would like to practice piano more, but because I'm not a music major or minor, the lab is off limits to me. I would like there to be some sort of secondary option concerning that.As far as what I'm not pleased with, that's all I can think of right now. Before someone attends there is something someone should do:don't sign the statement confirming you've read the rules before you actually read them. This will take care of any misunderstanding about what is/ is not allowedI'm looking forward to the rest of the year, partially because I know how I don't deserve to be here- I am abundantly blessed with grace. I think that I have this horrible menu to select from the cafeteria…that isn't bad at all, considering there is good selection, and that not too far away there are starving children in the street who would love to eat off of our floors. I know also that they are still working on facilities and it's kind of a pain to get around… all the while remembering that I'm blessed to even have the existent facilities, and that this place is beautiful- it's a gift to be allowed to "get-around" in it freely. What has happened to us when we continue to complain selfishly? I did not come to Liberty to be lavished upon like a materialistic, post-modern princess. No one should, it won't happen. And that's good thing.
