It's true that Stetson is located in a sleepy little town without much to do on the weekends, but Orlando is close enough to satisfy most desires, and the location isn't something that comes as a surprise to anyone who visits the campus.

Academically, Stetson teaches you how to think. I was a double-major there and in both of my departments I encountered nothing but top-notch faculty. As a graduate student now, I can say that the education I received at Stetson more than prepared me for anything I've encountered since.
The student body, especially those in the Business school and be fairly conservative, but to say that the entire campus is close-minded just demonstrates a lack of effort to meet people. Like any private university Stetson has its share of empty-headed rich kids, but also, for instance in its Honors Program, a group of genuinely intelligent, curious, and capable people.
