Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
When deciding to attend ASU as a freshman I was extremly excited. Of course the Tempe campus was amazing to me.(im from new jersey). I decided to major in nursing was I was extremly excited to major in. Theres a few problems with ASU's nursing program. If your gpa isn't 3.4 or higher good luck getting into their nursing program. Another issue is if your GPA is high and you don't get a high score on your net test you may not be allowed to move into your upper level clinicals. The main problem I found was the fact that you make many friends on Tempe campus only to have to move to downtown phoenix once your upper division nursing classes start or move to the poly campus. Yes, the football games are fun and there are a lot of great activities, but I think the ASU's nursing program is poorly ran. If I had college to do all over again I would probably attend ASU as a Business student since that's one of their top programs and is ranked nationally. I was very dissappointed with finacial aid and the scholarship money I received as an out of state student. I left ASU because their nursing program was too risky for the price. like I said If your a business student looking for a large school, beautiful girls, diversity, and somewhere that could possibly look well on your job applications this school is probably for you. It would also help if you had a lot of money, I found that a lot of the students parents were paying for their school and bought them a lot of luxeries. Nursing students do not need a school like ASU to stand out on their resume. Anyone who is smart enough to get a BSN in nursing can land a great job. I've found that many east coast schools nursing problems are ran a lot better and are more affordable. No one wants to worry their sophmore year whether or not their grades and hard work paid off enough to get them into their program. Most east coast schools directly addmitt you into the program like it should be ran. Another bad thing is the phoenix campus is dangerous and not very attractive like the tempe campus.
