Colgate was not my first choice but the financial aid I received was the most generous of any school I was accepted to, including some Ivies. I feel I am getting a very good education here and am now glad I have come to Colgate. The science lab facilities are incredible and I am enjoying classes outside of my field, too, and might add a double major in French. The campus is very attractive and serene and serves as an escape from my demanding course schedule, but for some, the bucolic surroundings have their limits (I haven't really found them yet - other than the obvious fact that the town is anything but metropolitan - but then again I have only been here a year. And yes, winters are long, but fall and spring are beautiful). It is fun to follow the sports teams, and as some have noted before, football, soccer, and hockey are really fun but there is a bit of apathy on campus and many students do not attend until games are half over. Drinking is popular here but it is not the rule. It appears the Greeks are under a microscope of sorts but overall, the students seem happy. Colgate has a lot to offer and caters to many interests.
