Colgate has really let me develop so many skills that it is hard to list them all. It was important to me and my parents to find a school where I can play a varsity sport and still get a great education. I found it at Colgate. The small town atmosphere is good for someone like me who is constantly busy, yet there is still the opportunity to get involved in the community, which I also try to do regularly (I tutor science and help coach at 2 nearby schools). There is enough of a variety of places to eat, to drink, and to be social, too.Colgate has forced me to budget my time in ways that I never thought imaginable. Classes, especially those with labs, are down-right hard. Sports, especially away games, are demanding. There are obvious advantages to both, but there are also the invaluable relationships and friendships I have made with professors, classmates, teammates, and coaches. I doubt I could have had such a positive experience at Colgate without them.So many other people I know have such different interests - from theater to pep band to volunteering to clubs - it's a great place to get involved, to work hard, and to meet great people.
