Sacred Heart University is nothing but a moneyComputer Science
Sacred Heart University is nothing but a money making business scam. They are concerned with one thing only, MONEY. Case and point, immediately following the 2002 commencement, the class went down to pick up their diplomas. They were informed by the Dean of students (who was standing behind a wall of Faifield police officers) that they would not be able to recieve their diplomas until an additional $100 was paid to the university IN CASH. The financial aid department does not know left from right and each department passes the buck to the next when its time to register. Can't register for class until you go to the cashier and square away your bills. Can't square away your bills until you pay your public safety bills. Can't pay your public safety bills until you figure out what they are, (You see where I'm going with this) Public safety is another clever ploy to suck more money out of the students. Mysterious parking bills and lack of knowledge enchance every students experience at SHU. The parking is an abomination and if for some stroke of luck, you find a spot, you'll most likely get a ticket for one reason or another. The library looks like something out of a horror movie and it's shag carpeting gives it an authentic 70's feel, which was probabaly when it was last updated. My student advisor further made my university experience more enjoyable by negelecting to tell me I was 4 credits short for my major a few months before graduation. In my meeting with him junior year, he assured me I was right on track to graduate on time. Although the school says its located in Fairfield, it's really in Bridgeport where people I personally know have been held up at gunpoint. I urge whoever thinks of attending this school to think twice and do some deep research. I got suckered in by all the bells and whistles and hopefully can prevent someone else from doing the same. You are better of taking your 30k a year and investing it.

Sacred Heart is absolutely Awesome. Don't know what people are talking about. It's just fantastic, and a real treat to be there. Beautiful setting and the faculty and administration are extremely helpful. Pay no attention to any "other" reviews. This place is a joy to go to.

Overall, a good school with excellent faculty and students who are friendly.
Don't go here if you are look for a school with an aesthetically pleasing campus.
Widespread use of technology, but library seems to lack sufficient resources.
Cafeteria food is decent. Not much social activity.
In my opinion, there are an above average number of politically consevative students and professors. (This is obviously a positive thing if you are a George W. Bush supporter like myself, or you are tired of extreme liberal bias at our colleges and universities.)

That being said debate and free thought is encouraged (especially in political science.) Nobody at SHU is trying to push a specific religious agenda.
