The Information Systems, MastersJul 29 2015Other
The Information Systems, Masters is ranked among the Top 10, and professors like Dr. Richard Baskerville, Dr. Duane Truex and William Robinson make the program at J.mack Robinson college of business, a top class program.
I enjoy GA State for its convenience, flexibility,Nov 21 2014History/Histories (art history/etc.)
I enjoy GA State for its convenience, flexibility, and well-respected faculty. I do not understand the racists who attend a university in the middle of a city heavily populated by African Americans and think it should exclude them. Many black Americans have worked very hard to help build this country. Anyone who doesn't think they should be able to access higher education in the country and city they helped build is ignorant to say the least. With that being said, I am overall pleased with my time at GA State. In the department I am affiliated with, European Americans STILL hold the disproportionate power. However, I am very glad for enclaves of black representation and support. All the African-descended people I have run into have been extremely helpful. That's it.
Total waste of time; as of 2014 theJul 06 2014Biology
Total waste of time; as of 2014 the quality of graduate research is low in the biology department. Advanced degrees from these programs aren't worth the paper they're printed on if you want to land a real job or postdoc. Worst 3 years of my life, I can honestly say I have fewer employment prospects now than I did when I joined the program.
Suffered a daylight assault on campus that requiredApr 22 2014Biology
Suffered a daylight assault on campus that required 4 reconstructive surgeries (assailants still at large), administrators can't get basic things (like registration or furnishing proof of enrollment to defer student loans) done, research went nowhere, job prospects nonexistent. The campus is pretty unsafe in general, I've even seen a group of non-students walk into the student center, steal laptops from students and just walk out laughing. Leaving Ph.D program after 3 years; going to GSU was, without a doubt, the worst decision I've ever made.
I have previously attended a top 10 universityMay 04 2007Psychology
I have previously attended a top 10 university for a masters degree and came here to get a PhD in order to be in the same city as my spouse. While the program was great when I started and professors were helpful, in the past 2 years, the department of clinical psychology has deterioraed into an environment in which everyone seems paranoid. A large number of professors who had been in the department for years have left and students are concerned about finishing. Professors who are now heading the department tend to be power hungry and out for themselves.
GSU has an excellent MBA programSep 07 2004Business - Management and Administration
GSU has an excellent MBA program. I have found my professors and classroom peers to be some of the best and brightest people that I know. The coursework has been helpful, challenging and beneficial, always relating to the real world in some way. If you're looking for an excellent graduate business education at a knock-out value, then I strongly encourage you to apply to GSU's Robinson College of Business. You won't be disappointed.
