HE UNC at Charlotte, founded in 1946, is a public, comprehensive university.  Programs are offered through the Colleges of Architecture, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Information Technology, and Nursing and Health Professions, and the Graduate School.  Its 1,000-acre campus is located five miles from downtown Charlotte.
