Question
To prospective students: please ignore most of theSuper BrilliantBiology
To prospective students: please ignore most of the negative comments. They are written by an idiot who either failed or knows nothing about OWU.

OWU is not paradise, but academics is certainly not one of its negative sides. It is one of its best attributes! Graduates go very prestigious schools like Cornell, Princeton, CWRU and Johns Hopkins. There is a section exactly on this topic at http://www.owu.edu/about.html and you can see for yourself.

I thought the only negative thing about OWU was the dominance of the greek scene...but even that was not so bad. Only 30% belong to a fraternity or a sorority and that's pretty low compared to other fine liberal arts schools like Denison University, The College of Wooster, Kenyon College, Franklin and Marshall, etc. Again, please ignore most of the negative comments. Come to OWU and you can see for yourself what OWU students really think are the negative sides of OWU! Best of luck to all!

Question
I just graduated from Ohio Wesleyan.Quite BrightAccounting
I just graduated from Ohio Wesleyan. Overall my experience has been positive. You will find some departments more dysfunctional than others, but it is all what you make

it. OWU has some great departments (Math, Sciences in general, English and Classics). There are also some very good professors and loads of opportunities. I think you know all of this. I don't regret having come to OWU and have had an overall good experience.Overall, everything in life looks better on paper. Reality is as disappointing as reality is. I think if you are motivated to make your Wesleyan experience the best it can be, it will be wonderful. It takes considerable effort since there are loads of little hurdles, but I think every year things get better around here. The students are perhaps the best resource as they are elsewhere, so keep your eyes out for wonderful friends. The university administration has spent a considerable time to improve the quality of students in recent years and the regular admission rate is in the low 60s this year (2006) as a result of an increase of applications by 25%. I feel this trend is there to stay. I didn't study a science but a lot of the science students find it very challenging and most of the students who left in my first two years left because they found OWU more challenging that they had expected.
