For a school that boasts about its wirelessAverageArchitecture & Urban Planning Department
For a school that boasts about its wireless network and high technology you would think that they could invest a little more in the facilities. Why is it that students have to put out 500$ to print required posters for there classes? The computer labs are insufficient and too few with too few hours. I seriously feel like the university just tries too bilk us of money in every way they can while they do little to invest in our future. Crime is rapant in the area as well i guess us rich college kids have tons of money. Everyone that hasn't went here says its a great school but the community college a transferred from had much more to offer.

Graduated from Materials Engineering.Other
Graduated from Materials Engineering. This Department is a gem at Drexel. It is a small department and the students get pretty much a lot of attention. The faculty is very research active and excells in their field. The atmosphere in the Department was excellent.

Question
I chose Drexel because it has such aQuite BrightEngineering Department
I chose Drexel because it has such a good reputation as an engineering school and it offered me lots of finacial aid. For the amount I was paying it was a good deal. However, I have found many of the professors have no idea how to teach. Some read the power point slides that come with textbooks to you. The slides are just condensed versions of the textbook, but the teacher expects you to attend lecture anyway. Other teachers will assign a lot of work, but none of the TAs or teachers really understand how it is done. Everyone would spend hours working on Systems problem sets that weren't too hard, but the teaching just didn't prepare us to do them. (also the problem sets didn't come out of any books)

I have tried to enjoy things at Drexel, but the prevailing attitude is a hatred of the school. Since it is on the quarter system it makes transfering out kind of hard. Campus activities are rather uninteresting, but they are there. There are some extremly smart teachers and students who go hear. Some classes are extremly well taught, but these by far will be the rarity in your education at Drexel
