Lamar University

Lamar provided me with a solid opportunity to grow intellectually. I was able to complete my degree with two minors and still graduate within a reasonable time. Following graduation I was accepted into law school, as were a number of my classmates. Subsequently, I practiced law for 17 years then obtained a Doctor of Psychology Degree and practice clinical psychology. Lamar fosters a can-do attitude and the small class size, approachablilty of faculty, and a campus focused on academic pursuits rather than partying, are truely positive factors for obtaining a very usable education. Yes, the air quality could be better, but it is a reasonably priced education in a medium sized city. You could do a lot worse than Lamar.

I honestly believe that a person's education at Lamar is up to them. I selected difficult course work that would help me go on to success in a legal education. I found the Political Science Department to be exceptional. The faculty has experience and education qualifications tailored to their course offering. Professors at Lamar have worked on impressive campaigns and served in state legislatures. Additionally, they have taught around the world (Malaysia) as well as more prestigious Universities in Texas (Baylor).
