MWC is not the school for everybody.Quite BrightBiology
MWC is not the school for everybody. It's a hard school to get into but the classes themselves are not as hard as everybody says. just keep up with your work and you'll be fine. there is no social scene on campus - you'll have to go off campus for that. historic parts of the town are nice but other parts B O R I N G. everyone here is really friendly and nice and you'll find your classes are nice. yes there are the occasionally kids who think they know it all, but they have them at every university. the campus is really really nice. the girls are hot for the most part. dorms are nice bc they have high ceilings and big windows but they are kinda old - depends on where you get put. New Hall is the nicest only problem is its kind of out of the way on campus so you'll find yourself doing alot of walking to class - then again you might be able to avoid gaining weight from all the fast food so it might be a good idea. professors are nice and approachable and you will never feel weird about voicing your opinions in classes. advisors are good, not the best, but good. overall good college experience. you'll learn alot. and you could always find a party if you needed to... its better than always having the party around you, especially when you'd like to be studying for a test or something. mary wash is great and for the money its the best education for your buck. food is good too. oh yeah, Quizno's across the street from campus. enough said.

Question
Mwc has a beautiful campus.BrightEducation
Mwc has a beautiful campus. the town is kind of boring, but the historic part is adorable with antique shops, etc. i heard mwc was REALLY HARD academically - but to tell you the truth, just keep up with your work and you'll be fine. its just like any other normal 4 year public college (soon to be university). not too much of a party school so don't expect parties. expect more going out to eat, shopping, movies, etc. with your friends...unless your lucky enough to know somebody who goes to JMU one hour west in harrisonburg where there is ALWAYS a party going on hehe. people here are really friendly and you will have no problem fitting in. very few minorities, however. cultural void. we called it MWC = "mostly white college"

great school though!!!! COMEEEEE you won't regret the GREAT experiences you'll have!!
oh yeah, if you want to be a teacher this is the place to go they have a 5 year program that you'll graduate with your masters. it's really the best way to go. no worries about applying to graduate school!good luck in your decision, but def. consider mary wash, you won't regret it!!!

Question
Although I did not hate my experience atQuite BrightArchaeology
Although I did not hate my experience at MWC, I starting thinking early on that I wanted to transfer. It is much harder to get into MWC as an out of state student, but even so this was my safety school. I have not been challenged by the courses at all. The professors are nice but boring. Also, if you come here expecting small classes like they tell you, be warned. My first semester 3/5 of my classes had 80 people in them. They also tell you that there are no teaching assistants here, which is true, but they don't tell you how many adjunct professors there are. When I first visited, I fell in love with Fredericksburg. It has tons of cute shops and restaurants, but no way to get there unless you love to walk. The "fred," the public transportation system is a joke. It is completely unreliable. Also, there is NO nightlife in Fredericksburg...let alone on the campus itself. Lots of students go home on the weekends, and for the ones that stay there is nothing to do. The are no parties on campus, so unless you like watching lifetime movies all weekend, or you like walking around in the nearby neighborhoods looking for parties that are always too crowded to move in and get broken up by the police in under an hour, don't come here.
