Pensacola Christian College

I had the priviledge of going to a christian school all of my life. I knew about the "rules" of PCC but thought I was used to rules and could handle it. I was so excited to start my college career.

The year I spent at PCC was the hardest and longest year of my life. Even though it was 10 years ago I still deal with the emotional pain that I went through that year.

I don't talk about it much but what pains me so greatly is that seeing things have not changed. There are numberous college students in my church that have gone and returned feeling the same way I did. Please take these comments to heart. I know have two young children and I will do everyting I can to make sure they are not rob of their college experience like I was.

1st Year Female -- Class 1998

PCC is a very legalistic and controlling school. One that does not stretch you to think out of the box, but to think exactly as they think. Concerning the business program, it is very basic and is not a good preparation for the business world.

Alumnus Male -- Class 2000

I would not recommend this college to anyone looking into a 4-year competitive degree. PCC does not teach you to think. The faculty and administration teach you WHAT to think and generally, anything outside of their agenda is considered "counter-cultural" and a danger to the institution. You are frequently treated as a child and never trusted. The rules are unnecessarily harsh down to the barbed-wire around the gates pointing IN. Many refer to PCC as "the bubble". There is very little incentive to leave campus and if you do, it is very difficult to do so. (Freshman women must only leave campus in a group of five women and you are not permitted to talk to those of the opposite gender while off campus.) After graduation I found it very difficult to find a job because PCC is not accredited and difficult to get into grad-school, as well. I did not feel prepared for the working world. Frankly, it was a shock!
