I would definitely say that CMU is a "nerd school"-the work is tough and there's a lot of it, but it's also very student-oriented. It's very dissimilar to some other "big-name" schools in that it treats everyone like a person with something important to contribute. I love it here, although sometimes I wish it was a more relaxed atmosphere, and that I had more time to just go out and party.
