while i've really enjoyed my classes and the academic atmosphere of this school, the social life of this place makes it hell. most people are extremely lazy and apathetic, or uptight. I'm used to laid-back people who are up for doing new things—the city of rochester may not be great, but it does have some stuff to offer. The major thing that's lacking is a "college town" where an abundance of upperclassmen live and throw parties. EVERY other college has one, but here. Because there are virtually no "open" house parties, you have to revert to greek life which although can be fun at times, gets boring and repetitive real quick. One good thing, because it's so miserable here in the wintertime, in the spring everyone is so much happier and friendlier. My suggestion for visiting would be to come in february on a random tuesday rather than in the spring to see what this campus is really like.
