The U. of Iowa is a great value for midwestern students who want to have access to some of the top faculty in the nation. A word to those Iowans who think they are going to get a better education at smaller schools like Cornell (College), Coe, Drake, etc.—Iowa has better faculty and better resources available to you. If you want to go on to professional school, you are better off studying at the flagship U than at a small school that no one outside of Iowa has ever heard of. I got my Ph.D. from an Ivy League university (as did many of my classmates from Iowa), and we were able to do so because of the amazing faculty in our department.
