Good things:

pretty buildings

nice profs/ very easy courses

Bad things:

Attracts a VERY pretentious crowd kind of obsessed with being seen as 'counter culture' and unique aka: lots of black nail polish, thick rimmed glasses, and designer clothes that only look vintage and haphazard.

complete lack of a social scene…because there is no real campus there are no campus wide activites/concerts etc, also to get to a party you have to jump on the T and leave boston to get to crammed, stuffy, overcrowded apartments then take an expensive cab ride home.

Please Please believe me that there is really not much going on in Boston for the under 21 crowd.

Maybe this place is right for you but I want to hang out with people who are really passionate about music and art, not just kids who claim to know the most 'underground band of them all' and refuse to explore any new ideas outside their little hipster boxes..so i'm leaving.

note: I know when i was reading this before i came here that i just thought the ppl writing negative reviews were probably really preppy abercrombie sheep that just didn't get the emerson community. To let you know, I'm not that…I'm just a normal person who wants to hang out with people who aren't obsessed with trying to project an indie persona. I have piercings and tattoos and I love punk rock but I'm not under the false impression that these things make me part of some elite subculture…these kids really need to just try and not take themselves so seriously!
