MTSU was definately worth my time. The teachers are great, the classes are fairly challenging, and the peole are definately very friendly and not stuck up. After reading some of the comments about social life I don't know where they are hanging out but must not be trying at all. Look, live in the dorms your first year and meet people, then unless you don't party or drink, move to a nearby house or apartment. It is a dry campus so there aren't any parties on campus except for frat row, but those are fun and there are many, many parties/bars to hang out at Thurs-Sun. I cannot imagine going to college at Memphis, Vandy or UT because those are all urban, spread out campuses that force you to live in small dorms most of your time (Vandy for all four and no cars allowed). There is enough parking for everyone, its just that no one wants to park on the edge of campus and wait for the bus or walk 20 minutes. MTSU, in my opinion, is the best school in the state for the experience and education.
