I'm amazed by many of the comments here. As a law student at the University of Pittsburgh,my VCU education has served me well. If you are a sheltered antisocial baby then, yes, it is probably going to be difficult to make friends and find things to do in Richmond. Really people? THere is less to do in Richmond than in other VA schools? Williamsburg,Charlottesville,Blacksburg, Harrisonburg, all completely sustained by universities, hence virtually NO outside life besides the college. While Richmond isn't DC, there is certainly enough to do. There's a great art, film and music scene while the city remains small enough not to be overwhelming. Again, if you know how to make friends there's almost no way not to have a good time in Richmond. Go to a house party in the fan, hang out by the James, check out the art galleries downtown, catch a show in Shockoe…basically live your life in this real, breathing, unique, lovable dwarf of a city. And if you need someone to hold your hand cuz the stweets are just so scawy and those awful men keep asking for change, then you won't make it in any city and should just live at home with your uncle or something. Bottom line most schools in Virginia might teach you how to do your job,the unique experiences offered at VCU and in Richmond teach you how to think like an individual.
