One of the best schools in the country, hands down. It's got the best of every aspect of college and then some. For starters, the campus is beyond beautiful. There is a great community, a great school spirit, and a great vibe that all the students enjoy their time spent there (what they actually do with their time is another story, though). Greek life exists, but it doesn't overpower any aspects of the male or female's social life. Clubs and intramural sports are there for the taking, and a great way to get involved. Community service all around campus is readily available, and another great way to meet people. Football games aren't always victorious, but just going to them is a highlight of the fall semester. Studying abroad is easy and affordable to most, and many scholarships are available for studying abroad.

A lot of people with negative comments think that everybody is the same—stuck up and snooty and from California. I completely disagree. You're going to get some stuck up people regardless of what school you attend, it's just up to you whether or not you want to surround yourself with those kinds of people. And if you choose to do so, then you shouldn't complain about it.

CU is big enough that you can see someone new every day, yet small enough to run into friends on the way to classes. Some find it too large, but for the self-motivated, ambitious and outgoing people, they will feel right at home. Don't come here with the mindset that

everybody's a freshman, everybody's scared, everybody will want to be my friend

because that's not the case. A lot of people come from Colorado, and already have friends from high school. That's not to say that it's not easy to meet people, it's just saying that you have to take some initiative. Strike up a conversation here and there, and you'd be surprised at the number of friendships you make by just befriending one Colorado resident.

Come to the school if you want to live the life you've always dreamed of. It's the ultimate location, with the greatest students surrounding you, some of the world's best skiing just an hour or two away, and teachers that are willing to do whatever it takes to help you succeed (if you've done your end of the work—they won't do the work for you). Don't come here if you need to be spoonfed and your hand held every step of the way. Go to a school of less than 2,000 if that's what you're looking for.

College is the greatest experience of your life. A lot of jokes are made about how very few people at boulder actually graduate in 4 years, because most take 4.5 or 5 years to graduate. Some have even stayed for 6-7 years. That's because once you really find your friends, boulder is the best place to be, and you want to stay here for as long as you can. I fully encourage any prospective students to attend, so long as they're willing to approach it with an open mind and an outgoing personality. Both will serve you well in the long run.
