Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
If you are going for a nursing major, PCC will help you to prepare to be the best you can be. The competiveness is very strenuous curing the freshmen year, as their are around 400 pre-nursing majors trying to get into the program that has only 120 slots for the nursing program beginning in the sophomore year. Campus social life for a nursing major must be very restricted, in order to dedicate to the intense studying, so if you are a serious student, you will be glad for the limited time off campus, so that you can dedicate to your studies. If you are the studious, serious type who is use to a close knit family environment, you will be comfortable in dorm life, as it provides a safe environment. There are plenty of extracurricular activities if you enjoy sports and making friends in the commons and in the sports center. If you love hanging out in the library and are a serious student, you will not have time to get in trouble. Just be sure to read the handbook, and get a close upperclassmen friend, who can clue you into all the rules, so you don,t make waves.

If you are the kind of teenager who feels that you are an adult and you can be responsible for your behavior, you will have no problems with the rules… Treat the rules as you would the 'safety belt' law, 'buckle up' or ticket. We wear safety belts at all times to avoid the ever present dangers of accidents on the road. We have rules at a Christian campus to avoid the ever present destructive dangers of unrestrained human nature. The tickets or demerits are there to restrain those that can not restrain themselves… yes, some rules like 'do not walk on the grass' make be ticketed with demerits, deal with it. There are reasons they don't want the mud paths through their beautifully manicured lawns.

Once you graduate with your RN, you will see alot more rules in the hospital institution. Do you want your surgeon to avoid the sterile glove rule when you have surgery because he thought it was too restraining?? The patients will be glad that you learned to put others first before your own selfish wants.

commentActually as a born again Christian, it is Christ who lives in us who is the regulating force. Too many rules can have the opposite effect, getting our eyes on the rules and how well we are keeping them or getting by with cheating on them, instead of getting our eyes on the One who loves us to Himself. Loves us to the spirit of the Law, which is love. Giving demerits for simply shaking a man's hand is ridiculous to the extreme. It seems that the college has more focus on sex than the individual student would normally have. Especially if that student were a born again Christian who has the Holy Spirit living in them. Law actually hurts rather than helps the Christian walk. Satan has no problem with using rules to distract from keeping our eyes on the Lord. It is really amazing how blind Pharisees can be. It is all about how things look rather than how things are.
