I enjoyed mtsu in the early 70's but I was never a big frat or sports buff because I worked my way through school. At that time, tuition was very affordable. The campus was very friendly, safe, and laid back. Half the buildings were not even air-conditioned and you could easily park,etc. I brought my family back a few years ago for homecoming which is even lamer than in the old days. I was appalled at the growth but not in a good way. It seems that mtsu grew just to be growing. Way too many non students roaming around looking for trouble. I hear of violent crimes each week and don,t remember any in my four years. Not really proud of my Alma mater anymore but it served me well for the times.
