Avoid at all cost and do not live on campus. I made the mistake of going here on a scholarship and since I'm out of state I have to live on campus. Huge mistake. The dorms are filled with trashy Memphis blacks who have no respect for others, they leave the bathrooms filthy and run and scream down the halls all though the night with not respect for others who might be trying to sleep. You cant call anyone to complain to since all they'll say is "oh sorry…can you just tell them to go and keep it down?" You can write the RA's a novel about how rude and loud they are (screaming cusses randomly in the middle of the night, banging on doors claiming to be security at 3am, having sex in the bathrooms/laundry rooms)but bottom line…nothing will get done. I thought this would be a good school, but apparently not, its nothing but a ghetto. Murfreesboro as a whole is a really nice safe town but MTSU is nothing short of awful. The school wants to be the biggest in TN without regard to the types of people who they're letting in (idiots who barely passed high school). The security outside of the residence halls is horrible. Theres creepers everywhere and most dont even GO to the school, there are guys (non students) going around and molesting females, girls are getting attacked at the on campus apts, or you'll get stabbed or shot by the many deranged lunatics that go here. You cant really be surprised that the graduation rate is about 50%. If your a female and you decide to go here be ready to get hounded by ghetto thugs(most dont even attend) harassing you for dates, numbers, cat-calls and rude comments. If you get in elsewhere go…this is a huge mistake waiting to happen!
