close-minded and conservative university. There are rarely people of color visible, homophobia is out of control, prejudice looms over any student not from the united states. I finally left to seek another university. The engineering department is way behind the national average when it comes to up-to-date education and technology.

As a first semester sophomore, what engineering courses did you take beside a couple intro classes? Try sticking around for upper division coursework and you'd have experienced enough to make an educated comment about where the engineering department stands with regard to the national average.
