Major: Finance (This Major's Salary over time)
It was one of the biggest mistakes of my life to go to Eller College of Management for FINANCE. I heard friends enjoyed so much about their MIS, Marketing, Accounting program. Unfortunately, similar to other FINANCE major colleague, I found myself most of the time upset at the program, regretful of choosing Finance, having wasted my precious 2 years of college getting terrible education from the Finance department. Most of their international professors are brilliant individuals but it's obvious that they are not so bright at teaching FINANCE. The assignments are mostly useless in helping students understand deeper the materials and prepare themselves for exams. I finished the program with a major GPA of 3.89/4.0 yet realized how little I learned throughout the process. Forget about getting prestigious job at big firms unless you are top tier students who spend most of their time networking, club activities and internships. 8/10 friends of mine who got jobs at big firms like Goldman, Merrill, Booz, Vanguard, etc would agree without any hesitation of such a terrible education level at Eller FINANCE department. I really wish I had majored in MIS, Marketing or whatever else NOT FINANCE. Try get in USC or UCB instead. If not you better of going to USD, OSU or anywhere else that cost about the same for out-of-state.
