I recently graduated the CMGT masters program at Drexel. I worked hard and graduated with straight A's. The problem with having an objective discussion about a program an individual is enrolled in is criticism brings you down with it. If I were to tell my employer the following, he would be much less likely to promote me, which is why I entered the program in the first place. So, I hope that StudentsReview sheds some lights on the many problems facing the masters CMGT program at Drexel:

1. The classes are a joke. I'm not exaggerating. Ever pick up one of those self-help books while waiting at the airport and think, who reads this crap? Yeah. That's your curriculum. Classes totally lack objectivity. "Scheduling" is not scheduling. "Estimating" is not estimating. I learned literally nothing that will help me in my career as a project manager. Two years of fluff for $50,000. Not a bad business model.

2. The professors are part time academics who spend little, if any, time interacting with students. The "lectures" are pre-recorded audio or video presentations, many of which are nearly a decade old. Good luck getting a response to that email you sent out last week. In the middle of my last quarter, a professor actually went on vacation for a week. What?

3. The quality of the lectures is as embarrassing as the content. It really is bad.

4. On top of the desperately lacking academics, I'm not sure how this program is even accredited. Halfway through the program, I realized I was facing 4 BACK TO BACK QUARTERS with none of the classes I needed to graduate. That's a year. You can't make this up. No, I didn't screw up how I planned out my classes. No, I wasn't the only one caught up in this predicament. I wound up losing my concentration (project management) and graduating with "green" and "real estate" classes that were even more lacking than their project management counterparts. My employer was thrilled. "Tell me again why you're taking this sustainability BS?"

5. The only reason I would consider entering into this program was if I was only concerned with getting the "MS" after my name. But I think most people are concerned with getting something out of their education by the time they go back for their masters. Especially when it's as expensive as Drexel.
