Major: Geography and Geosciences (This Major's Salary over time)
I would not recommend obtaining an undergraduate degree in Geology here. The NSM department is understaffed and underfunded. Most professors focus on their own research and do the bare minimum amount of teaching and lecturing. There are some wonderful professors who sadly do not have the time to manage the labs or are simply out of touch. There are many brilliant professors as well but also quite a few who clearly have no desire to teach or lack fundamental understand of the learning process and education. The course load is extremely imbalanced and lacks clear structure. The labs are probably my biggest complaint. Many of the labs are disconnected from the lecture and require more time than given to complete. There is no time for learning, only rushing through assigments. I've never felt so defeated until I came to this school.
