Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Although the University of Rochester was not my first choice, I have grown to love the school and could not imagine myself anywhere else. For the most part, the professors are very helpful and available. Some tend to be engrossed with their research, but most do care about the course and their students. The university's academics are topnotch and can rival almost any intitution in the Ivy League. While some students are very competitive, the large majority are willing to collaborate with one another. The city of Rochester may not be anything to write home about, but it does have its highlights. The Eastman School of Music is a part of the University and hosts many concerts and performances that are often free to students. There are several interesting museums and a few good sporting venues in the city as well.Sports at the U of R aren't a top priority since the school is in Division III, yet the men's and women's basketball teams are very competitive and often make it to the national final four. Both soccer teams also regularly make the national tournament. Unfortunately, only the men's basketball games seem to be attended by students.
