Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I consider my choice to go to Berkeley- instead of going to UCI or UCR and getting a full ride- the worst decision I have ever made. Mainly because it's too hard. I consider myself pretty smart and I like a challenge. But the Computer Science Department is a sink or swim challenge. Berkeley claims to give you resources, but they usually fall short of helpful. As a CS student trying to get into the major, I feel as if all I do is study. This is not the college experience I had in mind. I can't wait for the day I graduate/transfer.This is not to say that there is nothing good about Berkeley. Some people (usually not CS or EECS majors) manage to get a good amount of partying in with their studying. I can't compare with other universities, but alcohol is not difficult to find if you just LOOK old enough to go to Cal, and, if you know the right people, weed is plentiful (I don't smoke, but know people). Although the good (large) parties get broken up around midnight or 1am, there are many smaller parties that can go for hours and make you feel like you're a student at a better school.
