The classes are alright, the internship and career services are wonderful, the dorms are nice as far as dorms go, and the students are a mix of everything. You're only a lonely faceless tuition check if you do nothing about it. The university offers an array of extra services, you just need to pursue them.

My major issues with Hofstra are how much people complain about things that really aren't too bad(you're not going to find better food on any other campus people) and the price.
