Alabama is a public institution. Programs are offered through the
Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Commerce and Business Administration, Communication,
Education, Engineering, and Human Environmental Sciences; the School of Social
Work; and Capstone College of Nursing. Its 1,000-acre campus is
located in west central Alabama, 50 miles southwest of Birmingham.
An undergraduate student works side by side with a top
biochemist, researching Parkinson???s disease. Students talk openly about divisive topics
at the Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility. Inside Bryant-Denny
Stadium, 90,000 fans are screaming ???Roll Tide, Roll!??? It???s just
another day at Alabama???s flagship university???The University of Alabama, a
beautiful and historic southern campus. Ranked 11th in the nation
among public universities as the choice of National Merit scholars, UA???s rising tide of academic excellence is attracting the best
