USC is such aQuite BrightArchitecture
USC is such a lousy institute. It has a big name, but doesn't really stress much on its academics. It's all about partying, frats, how many fake friends you have...etc. Dorm is also lousy at SC. If you care about academics and getting a lot out of college, don't even think about applying to USC.

Question
USC is a big name school.Super BrilliantArchitecture
USC is a big name school. However, USC needs to market itself OUTSIDE of southern california. Some of my friends on the east coast never heard of USC or better yet, think it's a state school! USC also needs to strengthen itself outside of the USA as well. Some of my professors were very helpful and wrote me letters of rec for professional school. The students on the other hand, at USC, tend to be very cold and cliquish. Students who knew each other from high school tend to hang out with one another. Same thing goes for greek life. If you're no a part of the greek system, don't expect them to even look at you. What others here say about this aspect of greek life is true...and unfortunately, is highly supported by the university's president (not the segregation...but greek life as a whole). Students may also be rude too. There were several students in my dorm who would always play their electric guitars, and when I asked them politely to turn down the music, they turned UP the music. Dormlife at USC is pure hell. The RA's don't know what the hell they're doing. I've filed several noise complaints with the RA's, and they do jack. On the lighter side, the new international parkside dorm is nice. I also like the new dining facility there. It's gorgeous. OTher than that, I can't wait to graduate next spring and get the hell out of LA.

Question
USC is a fantastic university and one thatQuite BrightArchitecture
USC is a fantastic university and one that I am proud to have been a part of for 5 years (Architecture is a 5 yr. program). I believe that an individuals' college experience is what they make of it. Despite the rigors of my architecure curriculum I still found a way to become involved in a number of different on-campus organizations, including the dreaded Greek system. All of the dissent that has been dispelled up fraternities and sororities is unfortunate as I feel they are of great benefit to the university and the community. They provide leaders for on campus groups, student senate and donate their time to non-profit organizations. While there are those occasional drunken idiots who end up on your team for a class project, I would hardly say they would lessen my experience at USC. I am proud to be a member of the Trojan Family. Upon graduation I was interviewed and hired by two fellow Trojans and the university did a great job at preparing me for the real world. I feel that I invested my time wisely at USC by plugging myself into the USC experience. I graduated with honors (cum laude) which is not easy for an architecture student, was vice president of my fraternity and head of one of the most respected on-campus groups at USC. Like I said before, you get out of USC what you put into it. In five years I received a great education, lifelong friends, and unforgettable memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. All that and we have the best football team in the country! FIGHT ON!
