I've really enjoyed my time at UD soBright
I've really enjoyed my time at UD so far. I'm a Hotel Resort and Institutional Management Major which is under the Business school. I'm in a unique major so my experiences may be somewhat different, but I can say most of my professors have been wonderful. There seems to be a lot of critical comments on this website about not only UD, but also most other schools I've searched. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I have to respectively disagree. Some things I agree with and some I don't

Pros: The campus is beautiful, parties are fun and we are definitely a party school, there are many fun clubs and greek organizations you can join, many professors are very well educated in their fields, there is a vibrant main street filled with restaurants and bars, study abroad is awesome here

Cons: freshman dorms could be better (although they are being fixed so that may not be relevant soon), the town can get repetitive after a little bit, most students are friendly, but of course there are still some snobby or negative people, the school is 60% out of state and out of state costs are pretty highOverall I love this school and most people I know really enjoy it as well and are proud to be Blue Hens.

Question
Udel is a great school.Bright
Udel is a great school. Overall the teachers are great, but yes there are those teachers that are not so good. I do think at times the Administration can be difficult to deal with, but I do not include the professors in this assessment. President Harker does seem to care for the students though. Finances are expensive here, but it is college and I was prepared for that. Be prepared for the school to ask you for money, but to be honest pretty much anywhere you go they are going to ask you for extra donations. The school is pretty and they are continuing to build new buildings that are really nice. The student body is friendly. The only I don't like is that people can complain to much and not realize all the school has to offer. I do have to say that a lot of things on this website are bold faced lies and if it seems really far-stretched or out of the ordinary than it probably is

Question
This school is good if you know whatQuite Bright
This school is good if you know what you want. If you want a school with a pretty campus, overall friendly people and a more quiet, suburban area than this may be a good fit for you. However, like others have stated if you want a city environment this may not be the right place for you. I truly enjoy this school's social and academic scenes. Yes this is a party school, but if student's take initiative and join clubs than they can easily find things to do without drinking/partying. I appreciate that this school tries to make things better; something is always being newly constructed on campus and in my opinion majors/minors and frequently being reformed for the better
