Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Social life and rules aside, the Computer ScienceComputer Science
Social life and rules aside, the Computer Science department during my years (96-2000) was incredibly substandard.

There were no courses in web development, design patterns, or current technologies/languages. Only one semester was devoted to Object Oriented programming while a full year was devoted to COBOL. Upon graduation I was unable to find employment as an entry level software developer because I had no training in relevant technologies. My current success is the result of my taking the initiative to teach myself the basic technologies I was not taught at PCC.

Note: a quick look at the current CS course list shows no web development related courseshttp://www.pcci.edu/Academics/Majors/Business/ComputerScienceSoftEng.html

Question
I was one of those people who "knewBrightEducation
I was one of those people who "knew it was PCC for me all the way." But now I look back and realize what a waste of time it was for me. I was an education major and am now playing catch up to a world that is a strange to me as a foreign land. I am making no attempt to a get a Master's as I know, I will basically have to get a whole new degree to do so. I loved how they took it upon them selves to limit my opprotunities in regards to my career possibiities. As for the rules, enough has been said. Although I will have to say, Dr. H. if you honestly think the dorms are free from "promiscuity" you are sadly mistaken. Its amazing the number of my former classmates that I have meet in the local Gay bar or on-line. Just thought you should know.

Question
In “the Village” by M.BrightCommunications
In “the Village” by M. Knight Shamalan, the people lived in this perfect little world while unbeknownst to them, society was going on without them and life was progressing. Unless you have your own methods of internet or a lot of time to spend at Panera (for Wi-Fi) or Whataburger (for TV), you have no idea what goes on outside the Village walls of PCC. Recently, a member of the Blue Angels died in a tragic flight accident. The only reason I knew about the Pensacola based flight crew’s tragedy was because a friend’s mother (from Michigan) had called and mentioned it. We as PCC students have no idea what is going on in life unless we “break the rules” and use unconventional methods to get information.

As for the rules, they can be easily broken, but don’t talk about it; word spreads and roommates rat.P.S. Broadband cards are worth the money if you can afford them.
